Harris (Joseph P.) Entomology Department DDT Files

These files consist of reports, correspondence, and hearings on the effects of DDT use in agriculture during the 1970s.

Home Demonstration Records

This collection contains the correspondence, programs, meeting minutes, chapter records, and publications of both African-American and White Home Demonstration Agents in Mississippi from 1914 to 1964.

Home Economics Division

The history of various Mississippi home demonstration clubs from 1914 to 1940 make up a large portion of the material. The histories provide a brief sketch of each club. Records of the State Home Demonstration Council and National Home Demonstration Council are also included in this collection.

Homemakers' Council

These files consist of papers, publications, and programs of the Mississippi Home Demonstration Council and the Mississippi Extension Homemakers Council from 1933 to 1981. The records include minutes, enrollment reports, study topics, programs, voting delegates, constitutions, committee reports, general correspondence, histories, newspaper clippings, and various other items.

McGinty (Annie Jewell) Extension Records

These files contain the papers of Annie Jewell McGinty, family life specialist for homemaker clubs, home economist, and home demonstration agent. The materials consist of correspondence and memoranda, reports, financial statements, plans, minutes, and various other items from 1937 to 1983. The correspondence and reports of Lucille Montgomery are also included in this collection. Montgomery served as the head of the Department of Organization and Program Planning in Mississippi.
