Search, Find, WriteCourse Reserves
Course Reserves are supplemental class materials reserved by instructors for student use outside the classroom. You must be an active MSU student, staff, or faculty member to access course reserves. For assistance, contact Access Services' Course Reserves staff at email@example.com or (662) 325-8706.
Electronic course reserves (or "e-reserves") include syllabi, instructor-authored work, PowerPoint slides, student sample work, example tests, class notes, book chapters, and journal articles. They are password-protected to restrict access to MSU faculty, staff, and students.
Print and traditional course reserves include books, objects, sample student projects, movies, or CDs. The course reserves desk, located at Access Services, is available during Mitchell Memorial Library hours.
Items may be placed on Closed Reserve (may be checked out for 2 hours and used in the library only), 2-Day Reserve, or 24-Hour Reserve.
When you have identified the item you need, bring the item's title or call number to Access Services to check it out.
All course reserves documents are protected under the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governing the making of photocopies of copyrighted materials.
Course Reserves staff will manage all needed copyright clearance.
For more copyright information, visit our guide to Copyright and Fair Use.
We remove all copyrighted Course Reserves materials at the end of each semester. We will assist you with reserving copyrighted materials by either gaining permission from copyright holders or paying the copyright fees associated with the materials.
We encourage all instructors using Canvas to let our staff work for you, posting materials for your course and requesting a link for your Canvas page.
