Welcome to the Old Main Academic Center, a state-of-the-art multipurpose classroom building.
Located on the southeast corner of George Perry and Barr, the Old Main Academic Center is a dynamic classroom building that will enhance the MSU experience and strengthen excellence in academics with a multitude of teaching and learning areas. Its design is reminiscent of MSU's legendary Old Main Dormitory, believed to be the largest dormitory in the United States until its destruction by fire in 1959.
This $41.3 million, 150,000-square-foot building and adjacent parking garage was built with funds through the Bureau of Buildings and MSU's Educational Building Corps. Among the new building’s treasure of architectural features, visitors will find a grand staircase and two rotundas. Other select features include a gallery, a lounge area, and a Library Commons area that will include a combination of fixed and comfortable seating, a 16 station computer lab and a collaboration station.
Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 11:45pm; Friday 7am - 7:45pm. See exceptions.
Old Main Academic Center is located at the intersection of Barr Avenue and George Perry Street next to the Chapel of Memories. Map
