Eudora Welty was born in Jackson, Mississippi on April 13, 1909. She would become a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and regarded as one of America’s greatest storytellers. She drew inspiration from the “sense of place” she found in her native Mississippi, which she always called home.
Future banners will commemorate the seven additional Mississippi writers who are on the Southern Literary Trail.
