The Mississippi State University Libraries received 50 donations during the 3rd annual #HailStateGiving Days, a philanthropic event sponsored by the MSU Foundation. The Libraries received support from alums, friends of the library, students, family members, and past & present employees, who raised a combined total of over $2,800. The overall event raised more than $537,600 from 1,205 donors. Thank you to everyone who donated and participated. Your contributions are much appreciated!
The Libraries will use the funds raised to support requests made by our students through the 2015 LibQual Survey, as well as discussions with the MSU Student Association and Graduate Student Association, and informal discussions with patrons at our service desks. Some of the needs requested by students include additional white boards, projectors, portable projector screens, portable chargers and charger stations.
“We want to thank everyone who generously donated to the MSU Libraries,” said Pattye Archer, Chair of the Libraries HailStateGiving days initiative. “With these funds, we will be able to provide the students with some items they have requested and we are very excited about that.”
