MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. - March 9, 2016, —Mississippi State University Libraries is pleased to introduce our newest electronic resource – ARTSTOR library.artstor.org/library/ which is now active and ready for use by the MSU community. This database subscription is a partnership with the Libraries and the Art Department. ARTSTOR is an image database with a built in image viewer that allows for high resolution images to be viewed, saved, printed, etc.
ARTSTOR is not just for the Arts disciplines: “The more than two million images from 290 collections support teaching and research in nearly every topic imaginable, including Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Art History, Fashion & Costume, Literature, Religion, Theater, World History, and much more.” Many departments on campus will benefit from this expansive resource. Professors and instructors have access to an account feature within ARTSTOR and can set up their accounts from the ARTSTOR website.
In addition, ARTSTOR provides web pages to help all users learn more and get started:
Coordinator of Electronic Resources and Acquisitions Mary Ann Jones said, “This is a phenomenal database and we are very lucky to now have access to it at MSU.”
