About MSU Libraries

Library News

Looking for something a little less scholarly to read? Look no farther, because the MSU Libraries' patrons have access to the collections of more than 50 libraries across Central and Northeast and Northwest Mississippi! Fiction, nonfiction, children's books, and more are all available with the click of a button.

Thanks to the Mississippi Library Partnership (formerly known as the Golden Triangle Regional Library Consortium), MSU students, faculty and staff can place a hold on almost any of the items in the online catalog and have it delivered to Mitchell Memorial Library or the branch libraries (Architecture, College of Veterinary Medicine, Meridian) of your choosing.

Placing a Hold:

Once you locate a book in the online catalog, click the Place Hold button on the left side of the screen. This takes you to a login screen where you use either your netID and netPassword or your MSU 9-number and PIN. On the login screen, select the location where you want to pick up the book. The default pickup location is Mitchell Memorial Library.

Materials held at the Mitchell Memorial, College of Veterinary Medicine or the Architecture Library or those within the Starkville city limits will be available within 48 hours. Items held by libraries outside of Starkville may take 7-14 days to arrive. If you do not want to wait, you may also go directly to the library, find the item on the shelf and check it out using your MSU ID.

If you have questions about searching for books in the online catalog, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or contact a librarian using the Ask A Librarian service.

About the Mississippi Library Partnership

The Mississippi Library Partnership was originally established in 1993 as the Golden Triangle Regional Library Consortium as a means of increasing the sharing of resources (access to one database which would contain all of the holdings within the Golden Triangle area) and automation costs as well as the sharing of technical expertise. The mission of the Partnership is to provide a central database that customers can utilize to provide easy access to resources available in member libraries.
