SciFinder

Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) will discontinue the desktop/client version of SciFinder Scholar for all U.S. and Canadian academic institutions on June 30, 2011. From this date, MSU Libraries will only have access to the Web version of SciFinder. Please visit http://www.cas.org/movetoweb/ for the benefits of the Web version.

SciFinder is a database that allows students and faculty to access a wide variety of research from many scientific disciplines, including biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, materials science, agricultural science, and many more! With this source, researchers can explore information in journals and patent literature from around the world.

To gain access to the Web version, users must register on campus or using an MSU VPN as a Mississippi State University faculty, staff or student. After registering, you can access the Web version off-campus by logging in with your MSU Net ID and Net Password. Just go to the library's database page, scroll or click down to S, and click on the SciFinder Scholar link.

The MSU Libraries is here to support you and help make your transition to the Web version of SciFinder as seamless as possible. If you have any questions, please try our SciFinder Web guide, Ask A Librarian or call 662-325-7667.
