The spotlight shone on a new exhibit at MSU Libraries.
"Selections from the Dominic J. Cunetto Collection: Mississippi State University Theatre Productions" was on display throughout the month of July in Mitchell Memorial Library's Information Mall. Featuring photographs, scrapbooks, news clippings, and program covers, this exhibit highlighted the work of the late Dr. Dominic J. Cunetto, professor emeritus and founder of the MSU theatre program.
Dr. Cunetto retired in 1991 after having positively influenced hundreds of students through a very strong theatre program. During his 28 years at MSU, he taught courses in theatre and directed over 80 productions. In addition, much of the major building project for the University Theatre in McComas Hall can be attributed to Dr. Cunetto's diligent work toward the creation of a true academic theatre on MSU's campus.
A portion of "Selections from the Dominic J. Cunetto Collection: Mississippi State University Theatre Productions" showcases productions of The Matchmaker.
The complete Dominic J. Cunetto Collection may be researched by contacting MSU Libraries' University Archives at 662-325-7680. For more information on MSU Libraries, please visit http://library.msstate.edu/.
