Check out the newest addition to the Mississippi State University Libraries’ collection of online indexes and databases: Public Affairs Index (PAI). A bibliographic index produced by EBSCO Publishing, PAI indexes and abstracts all aspects of national and global contemporary public policy issues ranging from public health, housing, human and civil rights, educational policy, transportation, economic policy and taxation, and energy.
The familiar EBSCO interface allows the user to see at a glance how many items match their search. The faceted search options along the left-hand side of the screen provide easy access to subsets of the search, including quick access to peer-reviewed content. (See below.)
Sources include a wide array of scholarly journals, conference papers and reports, trade publications and government documents. Coverage includes over 700,000 records, representing indexing from tens of thousands of sources. Over 3500 journals are indexed, with 224 core titles that represent extensive coverage.
Here are just a few of the core titles indexed in PAI:
While PAI is not a full-text database, links to articles found in other EBSCO databases provide easy access to the online article. Users may also look for the “FIND IT” button to link to all of the full-text content available through the MSU Libraries’ content.
