Ragtime at MSU Libraries has a new look thanks to Rebecca Long.
Long, a MSU senior majoring in art with an emphasis in graphic design, is the winner of Mississippi State University Libraries’ poster design contest for the upcoming 4th Annual Charles Templeton Ragtime Jazz Festival to be held on MSU’s campus March 26 & 27, 2010. Long’s winning design will be seen locally, throughout the state, and nationally as it will be featured on the Festival’s posters, flyers, brochures, and advertisements.
“My coworkers encouraged me to take part in the contest,” said Long, who works as an intern with MSU’s University Relations. “I’m really pleased the Festival coordinators chose my design. It’s refreshing to do something different, and it was fun getting to design for a project that wasn’t assigned as class work.”
Long, a Brandon, Miss., native graduating in May of 2010, says she looks forward to including the Ragtime Festival design in her portfolio.
