About MSU Libraries

Library News

Mississippi State University Libraries will have to make room on their awards shelves for a new addition this fall. Library Links--MSU Libraries' publication of Libraries news, events, exhibits, workshops, and more--was named Best Newsletter Submitted by Library Group at this year's Mississippi Library Association conference in Tunica, MS.

This public relations award was accepted on behalf of the Library by Library Links co-editors Newkirk Barnes and Patrick Carr. Barnes, Government Documents Librarian for MSU Libraries, expressed her appreciation for the award. "The Library Links newsletter is only possible through a team effort," Barnes said. "The Libraries' Instructional Media Center creates a product of which we can all be proud."

Harry LLull, Associate Dean for Public Services at MSU Libraries, echoed Barnes' appreciation. "The Libraries are full of ideas," he said. "Barnes and Carr are excellent editors, and the IMC consistently produces a fine newsletter each semester. With all of the Libraries many programs and services, we're never at a loss for things to report."
