On Thursday, March 3rd in the Mitchell Memorial Library Auditorium, Julia Blixrud, Assistant Executive Director of External Relations for the Association of Research Libraries, will present a brief orientation on current scholarly issues involving universities and academic communities.
Blixrud is an adjunct faculty member for ARL’s Office of Leadership and Management Services and conducts nationwide workshops on facilitation and the culture of assessment. In addition to her presentation beginning at 3:00 pm in the Library Auditorium, Blixrud’s visit to Mississippi State University will include meetings with various groups from the university’s academic community. Her presentation will include a question-and-answer session and is sponsored by the Mississippi State University Libraries and the University Library Committee in their continuing assessment of the current status of open-access journals and SPARC’s prospects for transforming scholarly communication.
