As the Coordinator of Electronic Resources I manage all aspects of the Libraries' electronic resources. The management of electronic resources is the practice of keeping track of and providing access to electronic content owned by libraries, mostly web based content including electronic journals, electronic books, citation databases, and full text databases. The most important goal of managing electronic resources is to provide unobstructed access to the electronic content provided by the library so faculty, staff and students are able to find and access the information they need in a timely manner without hindrance. In order to achieve this goal, managing electronic resources includes many behind the scenes functions performed by electronic resources librarians and staff, including subscription management, licensing, presentation of links to content, troubleshooting, access management, acquisitions, evaluation, and vendor relations.
Mary Ann is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the libraries electronic resources and acquisitions, including negotiating for new resources, licensing, implementation, and maintenance of both online and physical formats.
