Jackson State University graduate and native of Edwards, Mississippi, George Flaggs, Jr., is chairman of the Mississippi House of Representative’s Juvenile Justice Committee and chairman of the Human Services and Public Safety Committee – Southern Legislative Conference. During Flaggs' 19 years of service in the Mississippi House of Representatives, he has been vice chairman of the Apportionment and Elections Committee and chairman of the Labor Committee. A former member of the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Flaggs is the recipient of the 2003 IHL Exceptional Leadership and Commitment to Excellence in Education Award and was named in 2001 the Most Distinguished Legislator for Juvenile Justice Causes. George Flaggs, Jr., and his wife, the former Linda A. Anthony, make their home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and have two children and one grandchild.
